Beagles require supervision as to what kind of food they take. They are very consuming, and therefore they often suffer from obesity, intestinal disorders and substance exchange malfunctions. In order to identify your puppy's ratio, you should contact your local veterinary service on a regular basis.
Feed your beagle once or twice a day. Do not feed them stuff from your table or shift from one food to another overnight. This may cause indigestion and even death. If there is a necessity of changing the ratio, shift from one ratio to another gradually by adding small amounts of new stuff to the meal.
You must learn to resist the temptation of feeding your dog, often imposed by the pleading expression of their eyes. Remember, obesity can lead to poor activity and serious heart problems. Check your dogs for excessive weight by palpating their ribs.

Beagles are prone to excessive weight, which in turn can entail heart trouble. They tend to eat a lot, and this may trigger long-lasting intestinal disorders. Nutrition is a decisive factor in Beagle's overall conditions. Beagles also suffer from epilepsy and back problems, as well as hereditary diseases, such as chondroplasia and aka dwarfism (warped front paws).
Beagles Puppies - Grooming
Beagles are not long-coated, and they do not require any special grooming. However, they shed a lot, and therefore it will be useful to brush them occasionally with a bristle brush. Do not bathe them too often, because their coat may turn dull and become less attractive. When bathing, do not expose their ears to water. Check the ears for infection regularly.
Beagles Puppies - Exercise and obedience training
Beagles possess a great stamina, and they need daily rigorous exercise. A small lawn in front of your house will suffice for plays and tricks. Indoor training is also permissible. Beagles are also fond of running and fast walking. Do not forget to leash them when walking and have your area fenced properly.
Obedience training is crucial in raising Beagles. These dogs are renowned for their loyalty and ability to carry out commands. They do very well at obedience shows, and in order to achieve fine results at dog shows, you must be able to establish a contact between you and your pet. Beagles are not vindictive; they are forgiving, even if there has been some rough treatment.
